We helped Google acquire a 2.6 acre site at the King’s Cross Estate, for the c£1billion development of their new c1million square feet UK HQ. It was hailed in the press as ‘the deal of the century’ and we’re continuing to work with Google on this exciting development which may see a cluster of technology companies flock to the area.

Land Securities

Land Securities is the UK’s largest Real Estate Investment Trust with a commercial property portfolio worth around £11.45bn. We’ve worked with them for over 50 years across all aspects of their portfolio. Recent examples include the joint venture with Canary Wharf on the £500m “Walkie-Talkie” development in the City, the regeneration of Cardiff City Centre (in a joint venture with Intu) and the development of St David’s Shopping Centre.

Aston Martin

We advised the makers of 007’s car of choice on a £150m investment by Prestige Motor Holdings, giving the iconic brand an enterprise value of £780m ahead of its next stage of development.

GlaxoSmithKline

GSK is one of the world’s best known brands, with a reputation for developing innovative pharmaceutical and healthcare products. We’ve advised GSK on a variety of competition cases, supporting its expansion into developing healthcare sectors by advising on acquisitions such as the £162m takeover of sports nutrition company, Maxinutrition.

Molson Coors

Brewing giant Molson Coors produces the world’s favourite beer brands, including Coors Light, Carling, Staropramen and Cobra. We support them in their goal of becoming a top four global brewer by providing topnotch advice on competition law and high volume debt recovery.

Department of Energy & Climate Change

DECC focuses on ensuring that the UK has secure, clean and affordable energy supplies, as well as taking international action on climate change. We support DECC by leading its defence in major group litigations and providing a range of strategic legal advice relating to the legacies of the nationalised coal industry.

Clarity Matters: Bird & Fortune

Since the firm’s re-brand in early 2007, we have developed a number of advertising campaigns and video sketches around the absurdity of exaggerated and over-complicated English and the importance of providing clear concise legal advice that meets business needs.
